Schmalz’s Innovative Dual FQE with SB1 40 Cups Combines Two Area Gripping Systems into One End-of-Arm Tool.
The design provides a higher holding force than traditional grippers built for cobots – handling over 20 kg without adding excess weight to the tool itself. In addition, the Dual FQE with SB1 40 cups is two-zoned, so each FQE can turn on and off independently, allowing it to pick up two boxes at once and place them in different locations at different times.
The Dual FQE with SB1 40 cups is the answer to the industry moving towards higher-payload collaborative robots by combining two of Schmalz's area gripping systems into one end-of-arm tool. This state-of-the-art tool can easily palletize and depalletize cardboard boxes in applications using heavier-payload collaborative robots.

The key benefit the Dual FQE with SPB1 40 cups provides customers is adaptability. The adapter mounting plates feature threaded connections to allow for different style cups to be easily switched out. While SPB1 40 cups are made to handle cardboard boxes, it's easy to swap them for cups with more bellows, flat cups or cups made for handling metal or wood.
The mounting adapter plate even allows for adjustment of the distance between the FQEs. This gives customers the ability to spread out the cups to handle two items or move them closer together for a larger, single item. And accessories such as vacuum switches gauges and optical sensors can be added upon request.
