3D Printing Highlighted at Upcoming New York Advanced Design & Manufacturing Event
New Materials and the Latest Techniques Explored at Javits Convention Center in June
SANTA MONICA, Calif., May 5, 2015-- 3D printing to personalize surgery is just one of the many new techniques that will be covered in the upcoming 3D printing conferences at UBM Canon's long-running East Coast advanced design and manufacturing event, June 9-11, 2015, at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City.
3D Printing for All Industries
On Wednesday, June 10, leading off a day of "Innovations in 3D Printing," Katie Weimer, Vice President, Medical Devices, Healthcare for 3D Systems Corporation, will present a keynote in which she will discuss "3D Printing: Changing the Game in Healthcare." She was responsible for developing Virtual Surgical Planning (VSP) for the company, which allows surgeons to create 3D models to personalize the planning of surgeries, and she also has lead in the development of 3D anatomical modeling and advanced imaging techniques.
Following her keynote, she will join Erick Wolf, founder of Airwolf 3D, and Justine Trubey, Vice President, Supply Chain for Shapeways, for a panel discussion on "State of the Industry: 3DP and AM Industry Trends and Opportunities on the Horizon," moderated by Zach Simkin, President of Senvol. These two sessions lead off a full day of 3D printing focus, with "What's Really New in Materials for 3D Printing and Additive Manufacturing," and "From Concept to Hybrid Manufacturing: Discovering Workable Scale-Up Strategies," later that day.
3D Printing for the Medical Community
The following day, on Thursday, June 11, the third day of the MD&M conference track will present the day-long "3D Printing for Medical Device Design & Manufacturing," with sessions delving into materials, tissue engineering, and "The Future of 3D Printing from a Physician's Perspective," by Oren M. Tepper, MD, a surgeon in plastic surgery and craniofacial surgery.
This multi-industry New York event attracts people from a broad range of industries, with segments for industrial design and manufacturing (Atlantic Design & Manufacturing), packaging (EastPack), plastics, (PLASTEC East), automation and robotics (ATX East), quality assurance and management (Quality Expo East), medical device design and manufacturing (MD&M East), health and beauty product and brand development (HBA Global). In addition, the pharmaceuticals packaging show (Pharmapack North America) will be in the Javits' River Pavilion on June 9-10.
