DoD Envisions Further Investments for Fielding New Warfighter Technologies: NDIA Ground Robotics Capabilities Conference & Exhibition Providing Forum for Opportunity to Answer the Question, "What Will it Take to Achieve the Vision?"
NDIA knows Warfighter needs are changing, and so does the Department of Defense. The DoS has a vision of establishing an integrated manned/unmanned force that strengthens our frontline. With plans of further investment in fielding new warfighter technologies, it's more important than ever for industry leaders and service-users to share one stage, in order to discuss these emerging trends.
"The National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) Ground Robotics Conference is really the best forum for the exchange of information, ideas and methodologies on unmanned ground systems," says Randy Williams, Senior Engineer, Booz Allen Hamilton, and Joint Ground Robotics Enterprise Representative. "This conference will feature speakers and panels that address the issues, focus areas and goals as they have been laid out by DoD's Ground Robotics Vision; you'll participate in an honest dialogue for identifying the technologies capable of satisfying the future needs of the Warfighter."
With support from the Office of the Secretary of Defense, Joint Ground Robotics Enterprise, NDIA has put together a conference that will feature distinguished speakers and panels of subject matter experts to engage in point-counterpoint debates to answer the question of "what will it take to achieve the vision?"
Notable speakers include, but are not limited to:
--Gen James F. Amos, USMC, Commandant, Marine Corps (Invited)
--Dr. Scott Fish, Chief Scientist, U.S. Army
--Dr. Jack Gansler, former Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics; Professor and Roger C. Lipitz Chair, School of Public Policy, University of Maryland
--Ms. Mary E. Lacey, Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Research, Development, Test and Evaluation
--Mr. Chuck Thorpe, Assistant Director, Advanced Manufacturing and Robotics, Office of Science and Technology Policy (Invited)
There will be over 500 senior defense professionals from government, industry and the military, from throughout the nation, in attendance at this year's conference. Conference registration is open to the public and both women and men of all professional levels are encouraged to attend.
