Program aims to help UAV companies navigate regulatory environment and manage risk

SEATTLE, May 3, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Perkins Coie is pleased to announce that the firm's Unmanned Vehicle Systems (UVS) practice group will be presenting at AUVSI's XPONENTIAL 2016, the largest trade show for the unmanned systems and robotics industry. The group will also have a booth on the exhibition floor for the second year running.

The presentation entitled, "Is the Sky the Limit? Navigating Regulatory and Risk Management in Drone and Unmanned Vehicle Use," will identify strategies for managing risk in a rapidly changing regulatory environment, be it through new insurance strategies, mitigation of product liability matters, or the utilization of intellectual property to capture technological advances addressing regulatory and safety issues.

The program, which will be paneled by key members of the Perkins Coie UVS group, will take place on Wednesday, May 4th, from 10:30 - 11:00 a.m. A primer on some of the issues the group will discuss can be found in a video the firm released earlier this year titled, "Soaring Into the Future - Commercial UAVs and How To Be Legal," shot entirely from the camera lens of an in-flight drone.
