InterDrone Las Vegas Welcomes Leading Venture Capitalists to Program. Accel Partners to Sponsor Start-Up Zone

Largest North American Drone Conference Creates Dynamic Environment Called The Hangar for Start-Ups to Connect With Leading Funding Companies; Adjoins Main Expo Hall, Includes Targeted Panel Sessions

MELVILLE, N.Y., Aug. 11, 2015 -- BZ Media LLC announced today stellar lineups for InterDrone panel discussions "Leading VCs Discuss Next Wave of Drone Innovation" and "Ways to Fund Your Drone Business." InterDrone is being held in Las Vegas, Sept. 9-10-11 at the Rio, and features more than 100 classes, panels and keynotes, including 3D Robotics CEO Chris Anderson and keynotes from AeroVironment, DJI and Parrot.

Ryan Mac, staff writer at Forbes, will lead the VC panel. Miles Clements of Accel, David Lam of WestSummit Capital, and Dave Famolari of Verizon Ventures, will join Mac to discuss cutting-edge drone innovations and future market-driving technologies.

"With 3,000 attendees, InterDrone™ will be the largest commercial drone conference and expo in North America," said Ted Bahr, Chairman of InterDrone. "You will not find a better opportunity to connect with all the constituents of the commercial UAV industry, including leading VCs like those joining us," he added.

"The Ways to Fund Your Drone" panel is led by Frederic Lardinois, a writer at TechCrunch. The panelists include Matthew Bieschke, of UAS America Fund and NEXA Capital Partners, Clements of Accel, and Susan Mac Cormac, of Morrison & Foerster. These experts will discuss the many ways of securing funding as well as the different approaches that are available.

"InterDrone is shaping up to be one of the most well-rounded conferences with experts participating across a range of subject areas," said Bieschke. "Funding for early-stage companies is critically important, and offering panels, The Hangar, and inviting top-level VCs is an excellent way to foster this," he added.

The Hangar is a ballroom adjoining the main expo hall featuring start-up drone companies and it is sponsored by Accel and SkyFund. The SkyFund, backed by DJI and Accel, aims to fund entrepreneurs across a variety of application, hardware, peripheral and services categories where UAVs, robotics and intelligent machines can make a meaningful impact.

InterDrone will also feature a "Coolest Startup" contest where attendees can vote on their most favorite company in The Hangar using poker chips.

"The timing of InterDrone could not be better as 2015 is proving to be a breakout year for funding in the drone industry," said Mac Cormac, adding, "I look forward to meeting start-ups in The Hangar and teaching attendees ways to secure venture capital."

How cameras deliver sharp images despite changing distances

IDS Imaging Development Systems offers a range of models, from a webcam-like camera in industrial quality to a tiny autofocus camera that weighs just12 grams. The 13 MP autofocus camera uEye XC closes the market gap between industrial cameras and webcams. Setting up and operating only requires a cable connection. After that, the autofocus camera immediately delivers high-resolution, detailed images and videos. With the optionally available, quickly exchangeable macro lens, users can easily shorten the minimum object distance of the camera. This makes it also suitable for close-up applications. Focus from a distance of just 10 cm. The uEye XS is even more compact and fits into almost any application with its size of just 26.4 x 23 x 21.7 mm. Thanks to its autofocus and 5 MP CMOS sensor, it delivers consistently sharp images and videos from a distance of just 10 cm. When it comes to image quality, natural color reproduction and harmonious contrast are also decisive factors. IDS has therefore equipped the uEye XS with many other practical automatic features familiar from consumer technology. This includes white balance, exposure and gain. As a result, it delivers the best possible result in every situation.
