GLEN MILLS, Pa.--Axalta Coating Systems, a leading global supplier of liquid and powder coatings, is sponsoring First State Robotics of Delaware and the Miracles of Engineering (MOE) First Tech Challenge team. Axalta awarded a scholarship to robotics team member, Noah Andrews. Noah recently graduated from high school and is looking forward to starting college in the fall as an information technology major, focusing on security.
"First State Robotics is delighted that Axalta shares our support and enthusiasm for STEM education and we look forward to a long relationship with them," says Peggy Vavalla, First State Robotics Board Chairman. "In addition to providing a grant to the MOE team this year, we applaud their continuing support of providing scholarship opportunities for students who have participated on any local FIRST Tech Challenge teams. These scholarships help team members attain their goal of attending college and further utilizing the many other skills and values they learned as a member of FIRST."
Noah and some of his robotics team members provided a robotics demonstration at Axaltas North American headquarters where Noah was presented with his scholarship.
"It is a pleasure for us to invest in the engineers of tomorrow. The First State Robotics organization and the MOE team are examples of young minds preparing and nurturing for a brilliant future," says Nigel Budden Axalta Vice President and Head of its North American business. "Axalta believes in hiring and retaining the brightest talent and the robotics students are an example of the benefits of early training and dedication.
