Health Robotics' i.v.STATION Robot Saves $233,000 Since its April 2012 "Go-Live" at Premier's St. Joseph's Hospital
i.v.STATION's unique Second Generation architecture advantages of low cost, faster speed, quick R.O.I., small size, and redundancy demonstrate its adaptability to all types of Health-System Pharmacies."
BOZEN, Sud-Tirol, Italy, August 6, 2012-- Health Robotics today announced that Premier Healthcare Alliance's member St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah, Georgia is already saving at least $233,000 during FY2013 through its recent installation and "Go-Live" of the i.v.STATION Robot.
In 1Q2012, Health Robotics won Premier's RFP versus IHS-RIVA and was awarded by Premier a 3-year exclusive [sole-source] contract for i.v.STATION and i.v.STATION ONCO at its 2,500+ hospitals and more than 80,000 healthcare sites. St. Joseph's Hospital is leading the hospital pharmacy industry by engaging Health Robotics' assistance to improve quality, reduce labor expenses, and increase Sterile Compounding throughput with less staff. St. Joseph's Hospital is a not-for-profit 305-bed acute care hospital founded in 1875 by the Sisters of Mercy.
Chris Jones, Pharmacy Manager at St. Joseph's Hospital, stated: "Since we installed i.v.STATION and went live on April 2012, I can comfortably say that for FY2013, we are saving at minimum $233,000 on processing Sterile Compounding Batch I.V. doses (IV Bags and Syringes) manufactured by i.v.STATION. We have initially focused on replacing Outsourced and Pre-Mix products that we used to purchase from other companies. I'm very satisfied with Health Robotics' technical service and implementation teams and the support their engineers provide us."
Gaspar DeViedma, Health Robotics' Executive Vice President, stated: "We continue on our well-established path to demonstrate that i.v.STATION is a very affordable solution for Community Hospitals, yielding an extraordinarily fast Return On Investment. Unlike other I.V. Robots, i.v.STATION is quickly installed without disrupting existing Sterile Compounding operations, without requiring additional premium space in the Pharmacy, and without costly construction expenses. In addition to i.v.STATION's prior documented success at Academic, Pediatric, and Outsourced Compounding Centers, i.v.STATION's unique Second Generation architecture advantages of low cost, faster speed, quick R.O.I., small size, and redundancy demonstrate its adaptability to all types of Health-System Pharmacies."
Chris Jones continued: "Our Pharmacy Technicians quickly load i.v.STATION at the beginning of their shift and leave it alone to carry out its Sterile Compounding tasks while they continue working elsewhere in the Pharmacy. When they return, the I.V. doses are already manufactured, and the Technicians then proceed with the next Batch of I.V. Doses. The most common Sterile Compounding products currently manufactured by i.v.STATION are: "Cefazolin, Vancomycin, and Amiodarone on Baxter Viaflex and AVIVA bags ranging from 100ml to 1 Liter."
