Free Full-Version Programmable Safety Controller Software Available From Omron STI For A Limited Time

Microsoft® Windows 7 compatible configuration software enables users to quickly and easily manage G9SP programmable safety controllers

FREMONT, CA - March 6, 2012 - Omron Scientific Technologies Inc. is offering to select customers' free G9SP software for purchases of G9SP Programmable Safety Controllers made between March 1st, 2012 and May 31st, 2012. This unique and intuitive programming software enables users to easily design, verify, standardize and reuse safety control, while also making it easy to reconfigure G9SP safety controllers when new safety features are added to the application set-up. G9SP software is compatible with Microsoft® Windows 7 operating systems.


Qualifications for the free software include:

-One or more purchases of multiple G9SP safety controllers made between March 1st, 2012 and May 31st, 2012
-Customers who place a qualifying order will receive a link and a license number for their free software download, and multiple licenses may be provided depending on the size of the order

"G9SPs are software-based stand-alone controllers that are quickly programmed to satisfy the complex safety control needs of small and mid-sized machines, and are easily reconfigured to solve evolving machine set-up needs. As a result, they are an ideal stand-alone safety control solution in packaging, food and beverage, automotive component, injection molding, and printing applications where customer-driven machine set-up changes demand equally flexible safety solutions," says Kenji Kawasaki, Product Manager, Omron STI.

G9SP programmable safety controllers deliver clear diagnostics and monitoring via Ethernet or Serial connection, and support direct connection with safety light curtains, safety laser scanners, non-contact switches and safety mats. They are ISO 13849-1(PLe) and IEC61508 (SIL3) certified. G9SP safety controllers can also seamlessly connect to an Omron PLC and communicate using the FINS protocol for a complete Omron control solution platform.

Three base models with a range of I/O options are available to satisfy varied application requirements, and four types of expansion I/O units are available for hard-wired diagnosis or standard signals. The G9SP is available with a simple plug-and-play touchscreen that displays safety I/O error codes and enables users to easily view the status of safety inputs and outputs without the cost of installing and wiring indicator lights. Additionally, an optional Ethernet/IP module turns the G9SP into a complete safety controller solution (kit), and enables programmable devices that follow ODVA guidelines for EtherNet/IP™ to communicate with G9SP controllers.
