Summit Lawn Mower Company is introducing remote control lawn mowers designed to increase productivity and safety on steep hills. The heavy duty track drive design combined with a low center of gravity allows these mowers to navigate on slopes too steep for conventional power equipment.
If you have ever heard of someone flipping a riding lawn mower down a hill, you can certainly appreciate the idea of using a remote control lawn mower designed for steep hills. In addition to safety, these machines also increase productivity for lawn care professionals who deal with steep hills in mountain regions. The absence of a rider's weight up top combined with the wide footprint of the track drive down below is what makes these machines able to crawl around on the steepest of slopes with ease. By keeping the operator out of harm's way, safety concerns almost become obsolete.
Even though robotic lawn mowers have been on the market for quite some time now, a commercial grade remote control lawn mower is a relatively new concept to the slope mowing industry, especially here in the United States. While several companies overseas already manufacture hydro-static powered remote controlled slope mowers, Summit Lawn Mower Co is the only U.S. based manufacturer offering them here in the states.
Lawn care professionals normally resort to equipping their men with weed eaters to maintain slopes too steep for their zero-turn riding mowers. At the end of the year, the payroll for maintaining slopes really adds up when you factor in the time those men spent using weed eaters as lawn mowers. By using one man with a remote control lawn mower on the slopes, a lawn care professional is able to keep the wheels spinning on his fleet of zero-turn "money-makers" increasing his productivity and reducing injuries at the same time.
In addition to commercial slope mowers, Summit Lawn Mower Company also manufactures smaller residential units ideal for the average lawn that may include moderate slopes, ditches, or other obstacles. These models are a perfect fit for the elderly, handicapped, and the guy who has everything and wants something else. The elderly can once again enjoy the joy and satisfaction of maintain his own lawn again without risking injury.
By using a single joystick for movement, operating one of these mowers is very easy for anyone to master. The transmitter has two main joysticks. One starts and stops the engine and the other is for driving the machine forward, reverse, left & right. The transmitter also has toggle switches for controlling optional upgrades such as video control, headlights, or deck height adjustment.
Optional upgrades are also available. By adding the video control upgrade, the operator is able to mow the lawn from the comfort of his living room as if he were playing a video game. The camera is mounted to the rear of the mower with 180 degree panning control allowing the operator to see and hear what the mower sees and hears on any television with RCA inputs. By adding the remote deck height adjustment, the operator is able to raise and lower the cutting deck from 1-6 inches from the remote control. All mowers are equipped with remote engine start/stop as a standard feature.
