Jaybridge Robotics, a rapidly growing developer of software solutions for autonomous vehicles, is pleased to announce sponsorship of the 2012 MIT Battlecode Programming Competition. The tournament, now in its 11th year, is open to teams from MIT and other institutions. Competitors must develop autonomous virtual robots to compete in the computer game Battlecode; the robots must cooperate to win. The top eight teams will emerge from the qualifying rounds to compete for an estimated $40,000 in prize money in a final, dramatic event before a large audience in Kresge Auditorium on the MIT campus.

"This great competition represents a rare combination of extreme programming talent, advanced understanding of tactics, very cool robotics concepts and a massive amount of fun. All of us at Jaybridge are thrilled to be part of this event and to be supporting the efforts of student programmers. These developers will provide the skills and intelligence that robotics, gaming and dozens of other industries need to continue to advance at a rapid pace," comments Jeremy Brown, President of Jaybridge Robotics. Jaybridge also applauds the involvement of other event sponsors including Blizzard Entertainment, Amazon, Google, Akami, Dropbox and Palantir Technologies.
