Talking AUTOMATE 2017 with Mobile Industrial Robots (MiR Robots)

Your company will be exhibiting at Automate 2017, what is it that makes this an important event for your company?

Mobile autonomous robots are still a fairly new technology, so it’s important for people to see our robots in action to really understand the tremendous benefits they offer. We’ll have multiple products on the show floor, and attendees and press will be able to get hands-on to see what they can do. Automate is the perfect place to network with a large number of current and potential partners and customers as well as our peers in the robotic industry.

 

What can a visitor to your booth expect to see this year?

We will be exhibiting our MiR100™ robot—a collaborative and safe, cost-effective autonomous mobile robot that quickly automates internal transportation and logistics. With more sensor intelligence than any other autonomous robot at this price point, the MiR100 offers tremendous opportunities for manufacturers to optimize workflows, freeing staff resources so companies can increase productivity and reduce costs. We’ll show the MiR100 in multiple configurations, including our MiRHook pulling a large-payload cart and a Universal Robot collaborative robot arm mounted on our mobile robot, as well as videos of multiple case study applications to show the robots in action. We’ll also be exhibiting an exciting new product.

Any new products you will be introducing?

MiR will further consolidate its leadership position with an exciting new product that will be launched at Automate. The product and its technology advances are expected to help triple our revenue in 2017, through the combined activities of MiR’s 73 distributors across 33 countries.

 

When you get a chance to walk the exhibit hall floor yourself, what is it you will be most interested to see?

I believe there is a distinct trend of making technology easier and more accessible for all skillsets. It will be interesting to see how others are beginning to follow this trend that MiR, along with other collaborative robot manufacturers, is driving.

 

Automate 2017 has over 100 educational sessions, is your company involved in any of them this year?

As a fast-growing young company, this is MiR’s first time exhibiting at Automate so we’ll be focused on our booth and the Huddle discussion we’re hosting. The Huddle will take place on Wednesday, April 5, featuring the key differences between AGV’s and AMR’s.

 

When you book a booth for a tradeshow like this what are your expectations and what does your company hope to accomplish at the event?

Although this may be our first time at Automate with MiR, our executives have extensive robotics backgrounds (most notably from their time at Universal Robots), so we know what an important show this is for our industry. As we’re still fairly new to the North American market, we’ll be meeting with press and analysts while there to provide them with an overview on our new product, our significant growth, and our market impact.
